Last April, Netflix announced that it had finally tracked down infamous geography thief Carmen Sandiego, with Jane The Virgin star Gina Rodriguez set to voice the character in a new animated series that’s set to launch next year. Now, Deadline is reporting that Rodriguez will also star in a live-action Carmen Sandiego movie for Netflix, which she’ll be producing through her I Can And I Will company.

We don’t know any specific details about the story of either the animated series or this live-action movie, but it seems safe to assume that they’ll both involve Rodriguez’s Sandiego stealing famous landmarks or historical relics, with a woman known as The Chief directing children to learn about history and geography so they can capture her. Deadline does say that the movie will “embrace the beloved ‘90s property,” so it may have more crossover appeal than the kid-oriented animated series. It might not be the gritty Carmen Sandiego reboot that someone out there probably wants, but it could be as close as we’ll ever get.
