Rowan Atkinson’s 2003 bumbling super-spy comedy Johnny English—easily the best bumbling super-spy comedy starring Rowan Atkinson released in 2003—has spawned a sequel, Johnny English Reborn, which will begin shooting this week. Interestingly, the cast now includes The Wire’s Dominic West and Gillian Anderson, both of whom, like John Malkovich before them, will add a touch of “What? Why?” to the story of Atkinson’s pratfall-prone operative trying to stop assassins from killing the Chinese premier. Expect the words “Gillian Anderson” and “looking vaguely embarrassed” to appear in close proximity in the eventual reviews.
