Edging ever closer to creating his own “George Michael Gets Arrested Mad-Libs,” the British pop star was apprehended over the weekend after his car plowed into a building in North London. According to police reports, Michael—referred to solely as “the man aged in his 40s”—was returning from a Gay Pride parade when he was spotted on CCTV driving into the front of a Snappy Snaps photo-processing store, then “arrested on suspicion of being unfit to drive” sometime around 3:30 a.m. local time. He’s currently out on bail and due to face trial in mid-August. As hinted previously, Michael has had numerous drug-related run-ins with the law of late, and only recently completed the two-year ban from driving he received after passing out at a traffic stop in 2007. In an interview last year, Michael told The Guardian he’d been shamed by his recent arrest record into cutting down from 25 spliffs a day to only “seven or eight,” and something tells us that quote will come up again—as will everything else about this infinite tabloid feedback loop he finds himself stuck in.
