FX Networks is potentially losing one member from its roster of rage-prone tragicomic clowns, but it’s keeping the rage-prone tragicomic literal clown around for at least one more year. Baskets, starring Zach Galifianakis as the downtrodden jester of Bakersfield, California (and his slightly more successful twin brother), will return for a third season on FX. The renewal was announced by FX’s Presidents of Original Programming, Nick Grad and Eric Schrier, the former of whom extended his gratitude to Galifianakis, his co-creators Louis CK and Jonathan Krisel, and Galifianakis’ co-stars Louie Anderson and Martha Kelly. “This year Baskets has solidified its standing as one of the best comedies on television, building on the momentum of its breakout first season that brought critical acclaim and awards,” Grad said in a statement.

The third season of Baskets will air in 2018; the show’s second season is currently airing Thursday nights at 10 p.m. ET and runs through March 23.
