FX has just announced the premiere dates for American Horror Story: Hotel, Fargo, and The Bastard Executioner, so get ready to schedule your (virtual) trips this fall to Minnesota, medieval times, and one scary-but-glamorous hotel.
American Horror Story: Hotel returns on October 7 at 10 p.m. ET with AHS mainstays Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, and Denis O’Hare, among others. The 13-episode fifth season will also feature Lily Rabe as a serial killer and Naomi Campbell as a fashion editor, though we don’t know who will do more damage. Although the first promo for AHS: Hotel only revealed Lady Gaga’s metallic-lace-covered arm, creator Ryan Murphy has promised to wreak havoc with our imaginations by focusing on just how “unsettling” it is to sleep next door to strangers in any hotel.
Season two of Fargo will premiere on October 12 at 10 p.m. ET with new murders to be solved and a new cast of snowbound locals played by Patrick Wilson, Ted Danson, Kirsten Dunst, and Nick Offerman. The second season is set in 1979 and will follow a state trooper (Wilson) and his sheriff father-in-law (Danson) as they investigate incompetent small-time crooks, an organized crime syndicate, and other weirdoes in Luverne, Minnesota.
Kurt Sutter’s new FX series, The Bastard Executioner, will debut on September 15 at 10 p.m. ET, with a two-hour premiere. Set during the reign of Edward III, The Bastard Executioner centers on a Welsh knight in Edward’s army (newcomer Lee Jones) who, having grown disillusioned with warfare, turns to beheadings. The cast includes True Blood’s Stephen Moyer, Galavant’s Darren Evans, and former Sons Of Anarchy Irish kingpin Timothy V. Murphy. Sutter will also appear on his show but wordlessly, as he will play a mute who protects a mystic played by wife Katey Sagal.
