There are few things in the world that enjoy a strong and professional consensus. Maria Bamford’s new show Lady Dynamite is one of the best things produced by Netflix since it started focusing on original content. That’s a fact. Other “facts” aren’t so certain. For example, there’s a lot of debate about the best form of therapy for anxious people like the star of this show (and many writers). Is cognitive behavioral therapy more effective than dialectical behavior therapy? Is psychodynamic therapy better than both? The answer will differ based upon whom you ask.
This just got a little more confusing, because Netflix just released this Lady Dynamite-branded GIF therapy.
The method is relatively simple to self administer. You simply follow this link, and then choose from an array of animated screenshots, animated stickers, and quotes from the show, and the website will spit out a GIF that you can post to Facebook or simply watch repeat itself infinitely in a serenely calming manner. Though you don’t actually have to pick from the preselected show quotes. If you’re feeling up to it, you can get a little bit more creative. Like this:
Hopefully, these GIFs were solid enough examples of what you can do. They probably were. But what if they weren’t? What if everybody reading this hates them? That would be disastrous. Oh, jeez. This was a bad idea. This was such a bad idea.
