Eclectic Method’s latest remix is a Captain Picard tribute

Patrick Stewart, Star Trek: The Next Generation

To Star Trek: The Next Generation fans Captain Jean-Luc Picard has long served as a paragon of intellectual curiosity, moral fiber, and selfless leadership. And it turns out he’s not a bad singer either. Or more accurately, DJ Eclectic Method (aka Jonny Wilson) is able to string together some of the Captain’s lines into a groovy little remix, the kind he’s previously done for the likes of Star Wars, Ghostbusters, The Wolverine, and Guardians Of The Galaxy.

There’s something almost Shakespearean about this particular track, probably because it features noted thespian Patrick Stewart quoting the line “How infinite in faculty” from Hamlet’s “What a piece of work is man!” speech. That Bard quote not withstanding, however, the whole thing still feels elegant and streamlined despite being made up of short lines from all different episodes.

But while Wilson offers a lovely little tribute to the Captain and his philosophy, those who actually want to hear Stewart sing on the bridge of the Enterprise will have to turn to this video instead.
