We’ve got Christmas cookies and Chex mix to prepare, and last minute shopping to do, so we’ll just note in passing that this is the week you can pick up District 9, a very entertaining sci-fi action comedy that narrowly missed making our Best Of ’09 list. You can also get your hands on the fine documentary It Might Get Loud, in which Jimmy Page, The Edge and Jack White sit around and talk about guitars. But if we’re being honest, the release today that has us most excited is Taxi: The Final Season. The fifth season of Taxi—following a jump from ABC to NBC—isn’t the sitcom’s best, though it does feature the bittersweet “Elaine And The Monk” (in which Elaine has a brief fling with a monk on vacation), and several wacky episodes revolving around Jim Ignatowski becoming millionaire. Mainly though, we’re happy to have this set because it’ll look nice on our shelf next to the other four.
