The List has begun its annual December taper-off, but there are few new releases worth getting excited about, including the first season DVD of the not-yet-popular-enough sitcom Better Off Ted. (Catch up in time for Season Two, debuting next week on ABC at 9 p.m. eastern.) Also cool? Arnaud Desplechin’s boisterous family drama A Christmas Tale, available from Criterion in a features-packed DVD and Blu-ray edition. And Shout! Factory continues to do right by the Mystery Science Theater 3000 DVD series; the latest box set contains four fine episodes (The Corpse Vanishes, Warrior Of The Lost World, Santa Claus and Night Of The Blood Beast) along with bonus features that include interviews and the original intros from the 1995 MST3K Turkey Day marathon. (Man, I miss those.)
