In what is hopefully an attempt to prevent the marketing of cheap knockoff merchandise, and not a preliminary move to marketing the cheap merchandise itself, lawsuit-happy studio Warner Bros., which some time ago trademarked the word "Quidditch", is amassing a small encyclopedia worth of items which may not bear that name, including condoms and lingerie.

The Hollywood Reporter details the ever-growing list of things named after the fomerly fictional magical team sport to which Warner Brother holds a frowny-faced trademark.  It includes, but is not limited to, cordless telephones, parlor-type electronic games, manipulative puzzles, magnetic key cards, unmounted photographs, bed canopies, and ankle bracelets.  So, if you were planning a Harry Potter-themed adaptation of Double Indemnity, sorry; time to find a new hobby.
