Dancing baby Groot gets a heavy metal makeover

While this summer’s blockbuster Guardians Of The Galaxy offered plenty of humor and spectacle, perhaps its biggest legacy is dancing baby Groot. The film-stealing dance sequence captured the hearts of moviegoers who quickly realized that baby Groot’s adorable dancing antics fit with more than just the Jackson 5’s “I Want You Back.” So while the movie’s creators tried to making “Grooting” a thing, the Internet set about making Groot dance to everything from Sister Sledge to Scott Joplin.

In perhaps the pinnacle of baby Groot crossovers, Luke Gibson of Master Engineer has created a brand new Groot-inspired take on Sepultura’s heavy metal song “Roots Bloody Roots.” Using Groot’s signature line as inspiration, Gibson’s music video plays as a perfect homage both to Sepultura’s 1996 hit and to the heavy metal spirit of baby Groot.
