For some artists, their work is wrapped up in advocacy. Damon Lindelof has one such cause: He wants to see more dicks on TV. The creator of The Leftovers made his passion for equality in nude scenes known in a recent interview with TV Line: “There’s an incredible disproportion between naked women and naked men on television,” he said. “And if you’re going to do a show on HBO, which is one of the few places where you can do full frontal nudity, there’s no excuse not to show more dongs. I’m passionate about it.”

Lindelof’s emotionally wrenching show, which just wrapped up this past Sunday, did its part to accomplish his goal of making male genitalia more commonplace. He told Vulture earlier this year: “Game of Thrones has got nothing on us in terms of full frontal,” adding: “We’ve got the most male dong on HBO.” However, he acknowledges that full acceptance is a ways off, explaining to TV Line: “I’m just the beginning of the vanguard, but I want to normalize male nudity on television.” He has his work cut out for him, but we wish him luck.
