We’re certainly not ones to indulge in self-serving news or sing our own praises more than once or twice a day, but seeing as this is technically only tangentially related to The A.V. Club—and seeing as it’s already swam its way into the mainstream media—we should probably comment: Comedy Central just picked up a series order for the Onion Sports Network pilot from our satirical brethren, which should debut early next year. The show will “take on teams, players, fans, products and over-hyped coverage,” most likely with some sort of humorous slant. It will join a history of esteemed Comedy Central programming such as Secret Girlfriend and Straight Plan For The Gay Man, though it will obviously be way more wildly successful.
