Over the past few years, human puppy Chris Pratt has displayed a knack for doing just about everything, from getting insanely ripped, to making the leap from sitcom sidekick to action hero, to French braiding hair. And now Pratt has revealed a new talent: Getting artists to work for him for free.
In a message posted on his Facebook page, Pratt asked fans to design his new cover photo. He explains that the winner will have “the honor” of seeing their work as Pratt’s official header. Plus, he writes, “This could be a great way for me to notice you and give you accolades plus maybe a free dinner at Applebees or something like that who knows sky’s the limit.”
Nevermind, of course, that graphic design is quite literally a job and one people prefer to get paid for. This time around, just consider exposure and Pratt’s attention as ample payment. To be fair there’s also that Applebees offer, although it sounds more like a joke than a real element of the competition. But if Pratt is actually offering to buy the winner a Chicken Fajita Rollup that would be a different matter.
Pratt’s poorly punctuated requirements are as follows:
i need a header. which looks like it would be 1 tall x 3.5 wide.
I’m looking to have Peter Quill, Owen, Andy and Emmet in the mix. possibly some other fun stuff including but not limited to previous roles, my family, eagles, american flags, guns, cool ford raptors, cigars, explosions, anything sly stallone, bloodsport, early steven segal, anything that looks bad ass and will say, “Hey this facebookprofile is chris’s and this is what he’s all about.” maybe some raptors, or even some largemouth bass or deer or trophy elk, maybe some cool guns or rollerblades or possibly even a nascar or a steak maybe even some corndogs. don’t ask me! you decide!
There’s no word on when the contest ends, but there are already a staggering number of entries. Some of our favorites are below and there are many more on Pratt’s Facebook page. These artists should feel free to take this The A.V. Club exposure straight to the bank.
