The forthcoming Captain America movie has found its Steve Rogers and it's actually Johnny Storm. The Hollywood Reporter has the news that Chris Evans has accepted the role after he was offered it this weekend and that it's now all over but the signing. Evans previously played Johnny Storm, a.k.a. The Human Torch in a pair of Fantastic Four movies.
Our take? Great choice. While it was intriguing to think about John Krasinski and others picking up the shield, Evans should be the perfect fit. He looks the part. He's got the charisma. And, most importantly, he almost redeemed both the terrible Fantastic Four and its even-worse sequel. He's a natural-born superhero who got stuck in the wrong superhero movies before.
