As reported by TVLine, Cartoon Network is planning to launch a reboot of Ben 10, the popular kids’ show about a boy named Ben with a crazy device on his wrist that lets him transform into aliens. This is an especially good time for a reboot, since Ben 10 premiered all the way back in 2005 and ended in 2008. That means the world has been without Ben 10 for about seven years—unless you count the four sequel series that Cartoon Network aired, the last of which just ended last year. So, depending on how you look at it, Ben 10 ended seven years ago, or a few months ago. Either way, it’s time for a reboot.
While those Ben 10 sequels showed the character growing (slightly) older over the years, this Ben 10 reboot will take the show back to its roots and depict Ben as a 10-year-old kid—just as he was in the original show. It seems like the art style will be a little different, but beyond that, we can only assume the main difference between this version and the original is that this version is being made now instead of 10 years ago. One benefit of this quick turnaround, though, is that fans of the old Ben 10—who would otherwise be opposed to this—are all in college now. In other words, they’ll be too busy throwing up and playing frisbee to post angry comments on the internet.
