In exciting news for fans of Brian K. Vaughan's Runaways, The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Marvel Studios has plans to develop it into a film with Vaughan writing the script. Canceled, then unexpectedly revived thanks to fan interest, Runaways follows a bunch of superpowered kids who hit the road when they discover their seemingly normal parents are actually bloodthirsty interplanetary supervillains.

The ever-busy Vaughan handed writing chores on the title over to Joss Whedon last year and concluded his Y: The Last Man series a couple of months ago. Still in progress: The superhero-becomes-New York-mayor series Ex Machina and the TV show Lost, for which Vaughan serves as a writer and co-producer.
