Billy Eichner will mock Netflix’s Friends From College

Netflix’s Friends From College will see Keegan-Michael Key, Cobie Smulders, and Fred Savage as the titular pals who reunite in their post-collegiate years. Previous reports indicated that the trio would undergo a “comedic exploration of old friendships, former romantic entanglements and balancing adult life with nostalgia for the past.” That’s still going to be the case, presumably, but they’ll get some perspective from an outsider played by America’s acid-tongued sweetheart, Billy Eichner.

According to Deadline, the Difficult People star has just signed on to a four-episode arc on the comedy. Eichner will play Dr. Felix Forzenheim, a fertility specialist who helps the central couple Ethan and Lisa in their reproductive efforts; he also dates their pal Max. Being around these nostalgic friends will prove too much for Felix, though, who will offer some “sorely needed, sometimes-biting outsider commentary.” It’s just too bad the character wasn’t a part of Smulders’ previous TV series, How I Met Your Mother—knowing Eichner, he would have forced Ted to cut through all the crap.
