Citing health reasons, Billy Dee Williams has bowed out early of ABC’s ballroom-dancing competition show Dancing With The Stars. Williams, 77, suffers from chronic back pain and has had two hip replacements. He was competing in this 18th season of Dancing With The Stars with ballroom dancer Emma Slater. Last week, they performed a Star-Wars themed cha-cha-cha. But despite their enthusiasm, the pair failed to score well with the judges.

Williams announced his withdrawal in last night’s broadcast while saying some sweet things about Dancing With The Stars, calling it a “wonderful, brilliant, fantastic blast of a time.”

Our sources could not confirm whether or not he sold out Dancing With The Stars for a cushy deal with the Empire.
