It’s clear that there’s a lot of crazy stuff going on in Noah Hawley’s new FX X-Men show Legion, but you might not even realize just how crazy it is until you see the behind-the-scenes video that the network released today. The clip is primarily concerned with the show’s sets and the literal “world” of Legion, and it’s cool to see the little tricks that Hawley and his production crew have set themselves up with—like a dynamic lighting system that allows them to change colors and brightness on the fly.

It’s all designed to highlight the heightened/alternate reality that Dan Stevens’ David Haller inhabits, and it seems to be doing a respectable job of making everything seem simultaneously super weird and convincingly normal. You can see the behind-the-scenes clip for yourself below.
