Still apparently feeling pretty good about itself after its big Golden Globe wins, Amazon has announced that it will make Transparent free for all on its streaming service for 24 hours this Saturday. “It just wouldn’t be fair to deny the world this Golden opportunity,” Amazon presumably said from a sidewalk cafe in West Hollywood, prompting an exaggerated eye roll from patrons nearby.
Amazon’s gesture of self-congratulatory goodwill will be available via the Amazon Instant Video app on your TV, connected Xbox-type device, mobile device, or at Amazon.com/Transparent. (The company will also be offering a 25 percent discount to new Amazon Prime subscribers this Saturday.) According to The Hollywood Reporter, binge-watching Transparent in its entirety will take exactly five hours, so plan accordingly.
