The circumstances leading to Alcoa’s second full-length were tumultuous at best. Singer Derek Archambault—who also plays in hardcore band Defeater—needed hip surgery after an accident, something that laid him up and temporarily delayed his band’s momentum. After a successful crowdfunding campaign, Archambault is back and the alt-country Alcoa has just released a brand new album, Parlour Tricks. The A.V. Club is premiering the video for “All Dolled Up,” in which the members of Alcoa head to a barber shop, fix themselves up, and then offer a song as compensation. The band will be heading out on tour in support of Parlour Tricks this spring and all of the dates can be found below.
