Promising another year of historical revisionism, graphic violence, rampant sex, and other staples of collegiate life, Adult Swim has issued a third-season renewal to China, IL. Not only did the move to half-hour episodes from its original 15-minute format give Brad Neely’s oddball cartoon the chance to develop actual, complete stories— albeit stories about searching for Thomas Jefferson’s diamond castle and God returning to Earth as an annoying surfer dude—it also boosted its ratings, with Deadline reporting a double-digit increase in ratings last year. Neely tweeted that he’s writing the third season right now, so you still have time to catch up by watching episodes online. Or just go to any nearby university and hang out with the professors there. They’re pretty much exactly like that.
