Variety reports that ABC has renewed Once Upon A Time, thereby adding another chapter—or, given how many familiar fairy-tale characters have ended up on the show, a whole book—to the story of Storybrooke and its enchanted residents. The sixth season order was announced by series co-creator Adam Horowitz, who thanked the network and the show’s extraordinary fans:
Once Upon A Time stars House alum Jennifer Morrison as Emma Swan, the daughter of Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Prince Charming (Josh Dallas), who’s been a bail bond agent, the Dark Swan, and Princess Leia during the show’s run. The series also features characters from many other fairy tales, including Frozen’s Elsa and Merida from Brave. In addition to the good news, Variety does note that Once Upon A Time has seen a significant decline in its fifth season ratings, but its animated fan base has kept the home fires burning, i.e., ratcheted up awareness of the show on social media.
