Just a few days after adding Christina Hendricks and John Slattery from Mad Men and Isabelle Huppert from Elle to the cast of his Amazon series The Romanoffs, Matthew Weiner has added Aaron Eckhart to the series as well. We don’t really know anything about their characters, but the basic setup of the show is that it’s an anthology series where each episode is about a different person in the present day who believes that they’re descended from the Romanoffs, the former Russian royal family who were (supposedly) all killed off by the Bolsheviks in 1918. Beyond that one connection, the stories themselves will be completely separate and unrelated to each other.

Weiner will write and direct every episode, and it’s set to premiere on Amazon in 2018.
